Symptoms of postpartum depression
- Anxiety at being a new parent. The new parent may feel as though they are incapable of handling all the new responsibilities and that perhaps parenthood was a wrong decision.
- Extreme sadness and depression
- Lack of sleep or sleeping too much
- Lack of interest in activities
- Decreased energy
- Irritability and anger, sometimes at themselves and sometimes at the baby
- Loss of appetite
